See you in a while...

So tomorrow Mommy, Daddy & I are heading out of the city to spend the next three weeks at Oma's in Comox, which is on Vancouver island. We will be there until the 17th of September. When we get back to Vancouver we will have a few days to tie things up here, then it's off to Ottawa!


We will have internet access but won't be as quick to respond as we are here. I may get a chance to post some blogs for you, but I may not. But don't fear, this is far from goodbye... I will let you all know how our holidays go and of course how the big move East goes.

I will miss you all over the next month or two, but promise to get lots of great pictures and videos to show you! I should also mention, among quite a few other words this week (including shoe & star), I have started to say KHAI!

Sushi

Tonight I went for sushi dinner with Mommy, Daddy, Veronica, Tony & Sean. I ate california rolls, gyoza, yam tempura and lots of ginger. I like to eat the ginger all by itself in huge pieces!

After dinner we stopped at the park for a few minutes, then it was home to bed.

2 Year Checkup

Yesterday I went to see Dr. Gibson for my 2 year checkup. It was a little early (I won't be 2 until next month) but since we're leaving for Oma's in Comox next week for three weeks, and then heading out to Ontario, Mommy wanted to get the appointment in before the big move. Mostly it was a formality and to say goodbye to Dr. Gibson who was also my Daddy's Dr. when he was a baby and growing up.

As usual I was pretty upset when the nurse came in and when Dr. Gibson came in, and I spent most of the time with my head buried in Mommy or Daddy's neck. Luckily there were no shots this time. Had I understood this right off the bat maybe I wouldn't have been so upset! Nothing too exciting happened, Mommy & Daddy just chatted with the Dr. and I got weighed. I am 26 lbs now. I didn't get measured because I was too scared, but I'm pretty tall... that much is for sure :)

On another note, my new words in the past few days are "key", "up", "tree", "beep beep", "upsy" (for Upsy Daisy), and my first two word combo... "it's hot"!! I've also started learning my alphabet, though I call pretty much every letter "E" and some of them "C".

Sasheeeeee!

Here I am modeling another of my new T-shirts. This one says MOM 4EVER and Mommy is very partial to this one. I am also eating a Shreddie, my new favorite snack. Actually one of my new words today is cereal which I've learned to say so I can ask (yell) for my beloved Shreddies. It actually comes out more like "Cereeee!"

After my nap Mommy and I hit the town for a sushi date at Sushi King where we shared a California roll. My second new word today is sushi. Which actually came out "Sasheeeeee!" I have also been toying with sheep and trying to say that for a couple days now. I'm getting close...

Tuesday Surprise!

Today when I woke up from my nap Mommy had a surprise for me! Auntie Kim & my best buddy Khai had sent me a surprise parcel full of toys and cool shirts!! Among the toys were some new cars and trains that I LOVE LOVE LOVE! Also an Elmo book that plays music! I got lots of cool stuff. Below is a picture of me playing with some of my new toys (I am holding up my new train that is named Neville... you can see Lady in the picture as well!) As you can see I am pretty stoked about my new toys! I am also modeling one of my new shirts. It says "Trouble since day one." It about sums me up :)

In this picture I sport my new shirt along with my Hot Wheels sticker / tattoo. Paired with the semi-black eye I got running into the table this morning I look pretty tough :)

Monday at the Park!

This morning Mommy, Daddy & I went for a walk to do some errands and go to the park. We went to the bank and post office and then to the second hand book store where I got some new books with pictures of different words to add to my collection. They are really small and fit in my hands perfectly!

Next we went to a park that we don't usually go to because it's a little further away. It's the same park where we took all of my Thanksgiving pictures. It was pretty fun. I ran all around, played on the equipment and even made a couple new friends. They were a lot bigger than me and were a little crazy and started throwing rocks everywhere, so I ended up running away to play somewhere else in the end!

On another note, today's new words are HAIR & HOT! I say hot when I see the oven or a picture of a frying pan in my new book :)

Airplanes

I love airplanes. We live pretty close to the airport so you can see and hear airplanes out our window all day and night. Most of the time when I'm inside I don't really notice because I'm so used to the sound, but sometimes there will be a really loud one and I'll go outside to see! This is a picture of me at the park this morning watching an airplane fly overhead! I can't wait to get to Comox at the end of the month. My Oma live right near the air force base and there are always really cool planes and helicopters flying around. Reeeaalllly loud ones. Sometimes you can even watch the Snowbirds flying overhead and doing tricks! Daddy tells me all about the airplanes there because he loved them when he was growing up too!

Just for Daddy...

I made today's new word(s)... TRICK or TREAT! Learned from my plush jack-o-lantern that plays a song and says trick or treat. I like to bite its stem with my teeth to make to play. Now I'm all ready for Halloween this Fall! Trick or Treat!!

Word of the Day:

Today's word is EYE. Last night I woke up around 4am and woke Mommy up. I proceeded to poke her face for the next hour. In particular I would poke her eye and say "EYE!" over and over. Then I would poke her nose and mouth and eyebrow and have her tell me what they were. My early morning eye poke session tired me out. After skipping my nap earlier today I crashed out around 4pm for a quick power nap. Aren't I cute??

More Words!

Since the famous "ice cream" incident (which I never said again might I add)... I have learned a few new things. I said "stinky" a few times one day (prompted by Daddy), and have started saying "teet teet" to the birdies (inspired by my best buddy Khai!) I say "C" a lot when I see cookies and crackers (inspired by my buddy Cookie Monster in "C" is for cookie). I say a lot of half words or first syllables of words here and there. This past week I have started saying "Car" and "Ball" every time I see a car and a ball, or want my car or ball. It sounds more like "Caaa" and "Baaa". I've also been saying "what's this" for quite some time now, which comes out more like "Uuts iss?" I like to say that and point at everything in sight all the time to learn new words :)
