One Year of Blogging!

On this, the momentous anniversary of my very first blog, I feel it is fitting to take a walk down memory lane and recount how very far I have come and how much has changed since February 16th of last year.

When I wrote my first blog I was only 4.5 months old. (I know, a child prodigy I was, writing such compelling stories….) I wore my Ladies man T-shirt and played contentedly in my exersaucer. Now I am almost 17 months old. Last weekend I found the bottom piece of that exersaucer, pulled it out from where Mommy had cleverly tried to hide it, and used it as a rocking surf board in the middle of the living room. Then I had a demolition derby with all of my cars in the middle of it.

Apparently I ate 2 whole table spoons of rice cereal on that grand first blog day as well! These days I like to fill up on french toast, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, apple sauce, yogurt, grapes and pasta among other things. One of my favorite dinners is California rolls when Mommy& Daddy get sushi take out. I can even feed myself with a spoon and help twist the lids onto my cups and bottles. I can eat an apple whole, right off the core with the help of all my new molars.

From the sounds of it I was well on my way to mastering the art of rolling from
back to tummy and was learning how to sit up all by myself. These days I dance and climb and run and

twirl. I can climb up and down, go on the slide at the park, walk all the way to Granville Street, and I’ve even been known to walk backwards (though I must admit I often end up walking into walls). I can walk up and down the stairs standing up with very little help. I use anything and everything as a stepping stool and spend my days reeking mayhem all around the house.

A year ago I learned how to put my soother in my mouth all by myself! These days I swipe soothers off the counter and stash them. I don’t really need them anymore (not during the day at least) but that doesn’t stop me from trying to gather as many as humanly possible for my collection.

Mommy still moo’s for me and crawls around on all fours. She meows a lot too. Now when she crawls around I climb on her back and go for a ride. My favorite game is when we chase each other around the apartment and Mommy hides around the corner then jumps out at me and tickles me. I still love the computer. My interest in it has blossomed into a full blown Daddy-esque obsession though, and I will climb up on the forbidden computer chair and type any chance I get. I like to talk to Auntie Kim and Khai on MSN, and hit the button on the mouse that makes everything Mommy was working on disappear.

Yes, I have come a long way since February 16th 2007. I’ve even started to sleep through the night quite a bit of the time believe it or not. (Mommy and Daddy say this one was a loooooong time coming…) It’s hard to believe it’s been a whole year, yet at the same time it feels like I’ve been around forever. Mommy & Daddy are so very lucky to have me and to have shared all of these special things with me over the past year. What a big boy I’ve become. By next years anniversary who knows what I’ll be able to do!!

I hope you have all enjoyed the first year of my blog and will continue to read in the years to come!

KISS Army!

I love music. I love dancing.

Mommy and Daddy started me early, playing Alice Cooper (I Never Cry) and Pearl Jam (Black) to me in Mommy's tummy.

Around here we listen to a ton of classic rock. Some of my favorite are The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Elvis... I dance to all of them. Here is a video of me intently watching Kiss.

When I grow up I'm gonna be a rock star.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This year I got my Mommy a red rose and a card that I wrote in myself. She loved it a whole lot. The orange rose in the picture is my Daddy's :)

I got Valentine's Day cards in the mail from both my Grandma and Grandpa's, and Mommy & Daddy gave me an Elvis bear that sings.

I wore my red Christmas jammies in celebration since I didn't have any Valentine's Day ones. You can see them in the picture of me in my new bookshelf hideout with my favorite cars.

Mommy's Helper

When Mommy turns around I like to take the laundry out of the basket for her. It's the least I can do to help.

My Cars

I love playing with my Mega Bloks cars. They are my favorite toys by far. I like to drive them on the mat in the kitchen (thank you Grandma for teaching me how to pull it up and fold it in half, Mommy loves it.) I also like to drive them on my high chair tray, on Daddy's computer chair, underneath tables and in the window sill. These are some pictures of me and my cars in the window sill, and one of Mommy & I being silly. The window is one of my favorite places to hang out. I stand on the heater and look out all day at the cars and people. Sometimes I bang on the window and wave to people passing by, and every morning I wave by to Mommy when she goes to work and to Daddy on the weekends. I love cars and I love the window.

Setting up my cars

One more ... perfect.
Yelling at people outside!

This window is awesome!!

Teeth

I have lots of teeth now.

I have 8 little teeth in front. 4 on top and 4 on the bottom.
I have 3 molars, and one that's just pushing through.

I have 2 canine teeth on top that are now poking through, and 2 on the bottom that are very close.

I like to chew my fingers and eat ice cubes.
Yesterday I bit into a fruit bar with my molars instead of my front teeth and yanked a piece off. I've discovered I can eat just about anything I want now....

Enta the Dragon, oh-Coopa son.

Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless - like water. Now you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup, you put water into a bottle, it becomes the bottle, you put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend.

I believe in this strongly and myself and Mr. Bruce Lee are one in mind and spirit. I am his young grasshoppa and he is my wise teacher. Together, we will fight oppression and evil.

HiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiYA!!!!!
